Winter May Be The Best Season to Go Solar

Wintertime solar panel installation has several advantages. To get you ready for the warm summer months, we’ve gathered the top three benefits of going solar.

Quick installation at a fair price.

Waiting until the off-season for installation might help you save money on a project, as is true for many jobs in the construction sector. Installers would rather have a job than have none throughout the winter.

Due to the infrequent sunshine in fall and winter, installing solar panels is typically less common. Electricity costs are lower than usual when the air conditioner is not running constantly.

Although installers do not typically advertise lower installation costs during the winter, you can try to bargain for a lower price if you decide to have your solar panels installed then. Furthermore, since the season is typically slower, you might not have to wait months to obtain the permissions and clear the installation barriers.

Prepare for summer by installing solar in the winter.

As was already indicated, due to high energy costs and long, sunny days, interest in solar energy typically peaks in the summer. However, if you inquire about solar in June, your solar system won’t be operational until the end of the summer or the beginning of the fall.

We don’t recommend waiting to install solar until the summer if you’re planning to do so. To ensure that your home and checkbook are prepared to thrive in summer when the AC is blasting, we highly recommend installing solar panels in late fall or early winter. By starting the installation process earlier, you can have your panels installed when spring starts to get a little sunnier.

Although the amount of solar energy produced during the winter would be lower, they can still generate electricity on overcast or chilly days. You may even generate extra energy that can be credited to your account if your home is heated by gas and you do not require electricity for heat.
